Subject Lead

The subject lead for Languages is Mr S Ascroft.

At Ince CE Primary School, Spanish is taught in Key Stage 2 for 30 minutes per week by the class teacher. This is supported by The
Primary Languages Network Video2Teach where a native Spanish speaker leads and models the lesson. Lessons are sequenced and
progressive, in which children are given the confidence to develop their communication skills through conversational work, singing
activities and games. As confidence and skill grows, children record their work through pictures, captions and sentences. Class teachers
are encouraged to engage in each lesson and reinforce language and skills throughout the week. Progression is monitored through
target tracker.
